Giving Back With Gratitude
A giveback program from our boutique
The Exhale Program
Walking into a place that has you should feel like taking a big, deep exhale — your shoulders drop, your jaw unclenches, and for a minute nothing is asked of you.
That is the whole feeling we are trying to build here. And this is how we give it away.
We are new, and we would rather be honest about it.
Grateful Threads is a young company. We could wait until we are big enough to write a cheque and call it philanthropy, but that has never been the point.
So we are starting small, and starting now. Some months we will be able to do a great deal. Some months we will be able to do one thing, well. What we will not do is pretend.
Who this is for
Two women we keep thinking about.
Not a category. Not a case. Just two stories we know we can hold well — you probably know one of them.
i
The girl who can’t afford her prom dress.
She shouldn’t have to sit out the night she’s been imagining since she was twelve. We’ll help her find the dress, and we’ll make sure the day she picks it up feels like a celebration.
ii
The mom who hasn’t had a minute to shop.
Three kids, no sitter, no time. Bring them in. We’ll watch the children while she shops — slowly, unhurried, with a cup of something warm in her hand.
We are an online boutique for now, so we meet people where they actually are — a message, an email, a conversation. The door we open may be a screen, but the care behind it is the same.
How it works
Nominating someone takes two minutes.
Tell us her story.
Send us an email or a Facebook message. A few honest sentences is plenty — no forms to fill out, no proof required.
We read every single one.
We choose together, as a small team, based on what moves us and what we can genuinely do well.
She gets looked after.
We take care of the rest — the dress, the fit, the quiet. Whatever she needs that day. And if she would rather it stayed private, it stays private.
You can nominate yourself. That is not embarrassing — that is exactly why this exists.
Write to us
Your shoulders should drop the moment you are with us.
If someone came to mind while you were reading this, that is not an accident. Send us her name.
Either way, a few honest sentences is plenty.
A new boutique, giving back from the very beginning.
